Kelly Joyner [percussion, vocals]

Kelly digs melodic classic rock and pop from '65-'74, and such contemporary artists as Radiohead, Neil Finn, and Rufus and Martha Wainwright. As a drummer, he's always admired Phil Collins (check out circa 1974-75 Genesis albums!), Neal Peart, and Alan White, though he's closer in style to Bill Berry and Kenny Aronoff. That harmony falsetto you hear is probably him.

Mike Smith [keyboards, vocals]

Mike is our globe-trotter and unofficial vocal arranger. He has over 30 years of musical experience, most of it playing keyboards in bands across the U.S., the Philippines, and Japan. He played sax in his teens and taught himself piano for a high school show. Before moving to Virginia in 2008, he lived in Hawaii where he opened for or performed with the likes of Train, John Ford Coley, Ambrosia, and Terry Sylvester. He also jammed with Gene Simmons for an August 08 episode of "Family Jewels".

Josh Switala [guitar, vocals]

Josh, who also played in Stan's previous band Trim, brings a heavy-sounding, soulful rhythm guitar, and a love of driving rock & roll as well as softer rock ballads. He claims U2's the Edge as a role model on guitar, and the bands Metallica and Candlebox as musical influences. In the Times, Josh takes the lead vocal for a few surprising (maybe unexpected) turns.

Stan Switala [vocals, guitar]

It all starts with Stan, the lead vocalist and spiritual center of the band. Stan, who has been playing guitar and singing since his early teens, fronted the band Trim for eight years before forming The Sunday Times. His musical interests lay in straight-ahead rock-n-roll - he counts The Beatles, Roy Orbinson, REM, and Tom Petty as major influences. As vocalist for the band, he can simmer like Chris Isaak, or he can wail like Jagger.

Larry Townley [guitar, bass, vocals]

Larry learned guitar at age 13 from a DJ in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. He's played in rock bands on and off for 20 years and, in addition to guitar, taught himself bass, banjo, and piano. He moved to Virginia in 2005 and joined The Sunday Times early in 2008. His tastes and influences run the gamut: Beatles, Aerosmith, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Motown, Willie Nelson, Kiss, B.B. King, contemporary pop and hip hop, and even classical. A musician's musician: we haven't been able to stump him yet.
